This Lent, the message series at the Sunday Lenten homilies will be about getting free. So much of our culture stresses personal freedom. Yet, many in our times are not experiencing personal freedom. Many are experiencing struggles in their personal life in the form of hang ups, hurts and habits that are destructive to their life and those whom they love the most. This message series will explore how Christ came to bring us freedom and how we can participate in this gift to us.  He said of himself that “I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.”

Message titles:

February 18, 2018: Do you know who you are? As Jesus was tempted in the desert, His identity as the Father’s son was challenged. Knowing who you are is key to personal freedom. Our sense of worth is wrapped up in identity. We will explore how to secure consistency and power in our identity as sons and daughters of God.

February 25, 2018: For freedom Christ came. The revelation of Jesus in all his majesty was to reveal that he came to set us free with the sacrifice of His love for us. This message will explore how this love impacts our life to set us free from hang ups, hurts and habits.

March 4, 2018: Where the Spirit of the Lord, there is freedom. The Holy Spirit is a game changer for us living in freedom. Just as the woman at the well experienced new freedom in His words, experiencing His word for our life enables us to live with a new perspective of our hang ups, hurts and habits.

March 11, 2018: Praying for breakthroughs. The man born blind could “see” as Jesus touched him. AS we learn to see our struggles through the eyes of Jesus, we can feel empowered for breakthrough in our prayers.

March 18, 2018: Finding real power. Lazarus was raised from the dead and knew real power. Jesus comes to give us real power-the power that frees us in our life. How do we experience this for our life? This message will explore how we can know this.

March 25, 2018: Love transforms us. In the passion of Jesus, we will know a divine sacrificial love that changes us. This message will explore how God transforms us.
